Artist's Comments

This is an older piece, but it's the very first one that I colored using the digital chiaroscuro technique that has become my favorite method.

Sailors don't like dandified, white-glove-wearing fops, by the way, so if you are one, do yourself a favor and stay out of their hang-outs.

That guy looks very much like he regrets opening that door!
I love the lighting and mood in this, and that's certainly a group of characters I doubt I'd want to run into in a dark alley <_<;

chiaroscuro, so thát's what it's called ;) I'm learning so much on DA.
Love the effect and your style by the way, really beautiful and somehow humorous!

I really, really love this piece! That poor fellow looks mildly terrified. The coloring on this is absolutely beautiful! And all of the characters are very unique, and seem full of personality.

"Sailors don't like dandified, white-glove-wearing fops"

A great line to go with a great piece.

I bet even the old guys could beat him up. ;)

Though I know the chiaroscuro technique I wonder how you incorporate it to your pictures. Could you explain a little bit how you face it?

Dag Nabbit, you made me Google "digital chiaroscuro technique"! :confused:
:icongeorgesellas:
And....... Did it get you any results?
